These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DevToolsAPI ("Service"), operated by DevToolsAPI ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you may not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

DevToolsAPI provides a REST API for web automation tasks including URL screenshots, PDF generation, and related developer tools. Access is provided via API keys on a subscription or free-tier basis.

5. Usage Limits and Overages

Monthly usage resets on your billing anniversary date. Requests beyond your plan limit will return a 429 error. We do not automatically charge for overages — you must upgrade your plan to increase your limit.

6. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Planned maintenance will be communicated via our status page when possible. Business plan customers receive an SLA commitment — please contact us for details.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all code, design, documentation, and trademarks, is owned by DevToolsAPI. You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. You grant us a limited license to process your requests solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not store screenshots or PDFs generated through the API — results are returned directly in the API response.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, for non-payment, or for any other reason at our discretion with or without notice. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard. Upon termination, your API key is immediately deactivated.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVTOOLSAPI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DevToolsAPI from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email to the address associated with your account. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Illinois.
